Last night, the Golden Globes aired on NBC and was hosted by Ricky Gervais. He actually had people cringing more than laughing. I will be the first to admit that I found some of his rather shocking one-liners hilarious, however some digs (like the ones made to Ted Allen and Robert Downey Jr.), I felt were not necessary.
Aside from this, the night was very festive and although black-tie, most celebrities seemed rather relaxed. What a little bubbly will do! Thanks to Paul Giamatti we were filled in on the loads of Godiva chocolate at the tables and Ryan Seacrest posted on his twitter (@RyanSeacrest) what the dinner plate looked.
The Red carpet fashions were naturally very glamorous, however there were a few celebrities that decided to play it safe. The women either wowed you or not. Here are the ladies that looked ultra-stunning last night.
This is my Best Dressed List for 68th Annual Golden Globe Awards
OLIVIA WILDE looked spectacular in her chocolaty Marchesa gown, Tiffany & Co. jewels, Judith Leiber clutch and the most talked about statement shoes of the night by Christian Louboutin. Glitter and “bling” of any kind, was one of the biggest trends seen on the red carpet last night. She was the first one interviewed on E! and it was hard to forget this dress and focus on the next slue of dresses!
PIPER PERABO wore an all black Oscar de la Renta gown which donned a glamorous bow on the right shoulder. I love dresses that exude classical elegance without much effort. Finishing off the look with a slick hairstyle and red lipstick keeps her style modern, but timeless. Christian Louboutin heels, a Judith Leiber clutch and Bvlgari jewelry adds that little cherry on top we also look for in classic fashion.
ANNE HATHAWAY looked stunning in Armani. Ryan Seacrest pointed out that the dress looked like it was adorned with mini CDs. She was also one of the many celebrities who decided to go for long sleeves. I love the revealing back, definitely one of my favorites.
DIANNA AGRON looked beautiful and feminine in this nude J.Mendel dress. Soft make-up, smooth locks with just right amount of volume and of course a statement diamond mesh necklace by Cathy Waterman adds just the right amount of jazz. Her clutch is by Ferragamo.
JANE FONDA rocked her new man (Richard Perry) and fabulous black frock by Georges Hobeika with unmatched confidence. I love statement shoulder on middle-aged women, more so than younger women.
ANGELINA JOLIE looked quite handsome and regal in this green gown by Versace. Emerald is definitely her favorite color. Remember those royal duds she wore at the 81st Academy Awards? (I actually just picked up a look-a-like on ideeli.). This year her jewels are by Robert Procop. This would not be an honest post if I don’t mention how sharp and equally as handsome Brad Pitt looks…it just wouldn’t be. Now if he would just take those glasses off and deal with all the flash like man.
CATHERINE ZETA-JONES wore a beautiful emerald gown by Monique Lhuillier (the designer of my future dream wedding dress) and Van Cleef & Arpels jewels. It was fantastic to see Michael Douglas doing good and looking quite sharp!
SCARLETT JOHANSSON wore a beautiful gown by Elie Saab, Van Cleef & Arpels jewelry and Jimmy Choo shoes. Her hairstyles has grown on me since last night. At first glance it reminded me of Sonic the Hedgehog, but not I can see the ethereal side of it. On another note, this dress looks nothing like what Sandra Bullock wore…maybe I’m seeing something different, but I disagree with all other 100 publications who state this.
NATALIE PORTMAN sported a beautiful gown by Viktor & Rolf and the most glamorous baby bump of the night. I absolutely love this dress! Her accessories were also far from shabby--Stella McCartney shoes, Tiffany & Co. jewels and a Dior clutch.
MEGAN FOX looked stunning in a gown that embraces most of the trends seen last night: pink, white, bling, one shoulder strap. She wore Armani Privé, Lorraine Schwartz jewelry, a Roger Vivier clutch and Brian Atwood shoes.
MILA JOVOVICH in Giorgio Armani Privé wore my favorite neckline and favorite mermaid silhouette, with just the right amount of sparkle. Here she is presenting with Kevin Bacon.
EVA LONGORIA worked her sexy curves in a form fitting Zac Posen dress. This all black gave her a sultry look even while slipping on stage.
JULIANNE HOUGH did not need a single accessory with this statement dress by Marchesa. I love it! She reportedly walked right passed her boyfriend Ryan Seacrest…so…what. Don’t you think it would’ve been a bit awkward for him to be interviewing his girlfriend on what she’s wearing tonight and her non-existent acting career?
JENNIFER LOPEZ (JLo) one of the most gorgeous women last night who decided to wear white. Her dress is by Zuhair Murad, Christian Louboutin shoes, a Swarovski bag and Harry Winston jewels
That’s all for now. Stay tuned tomorrow where I tell you about all the trends seen last night, including close-ups of all the amazing statement shoes!

Great picks! My fav was Eva Longoria. The neck line on her dress was fab and when I saw the back I was like whoa! Loved it! I also loved the way she gracefully caught her step...
